Project Overview

Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), a 65-year-old Bengaluru-based technical education institution with more than 20 training centres, was mandated by Boeing India to implement a large-scale livelihood and skill development program for veterans, spouses and dependents across India.

The program was designed to train 1,000+ veterans and dependents, including beneficiaries in remote and underserved locations, across 40+ courses and 14+ skill areas, with a target of achieving 70%+ placement or livelihood generation.

Brisk Olive was engaged to support NTTF with the nationwide operational execution of the program, including candidate identification, mobilisation, course planning, training coordination, monitoring, technology-enabled reporting and placement support.

The project was particularly challenging as it had to be implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in the temporary suspension of several planned courses.

02

Client Requirement

NTTF required a reliable, India-wide implementation partner capable of managing a large and geographically distributed skill development program. The key objectives were to:

  • Identify and mobilise 1,000+ deserving veterans and dependents across India.
  • Reach beneficiaries in remote and underserved locations.
  • Include vulnerable groups such as widows and persons with disabilities.
  • Design and deliver 40+ courses across 14+ livelihood-oriented skills.
  • Conduct training across 10+ states and Union Territories.
  • Combine technical, practical and managerial skills to maximise employability and livelihood generation.
  • Achieve 70%+ attendance.
  • Deliver high-quality training through certified and experienced trainers.
  • Achieve 70%+ placement/livelihood generation within 90 days.
  • Establish robust systems for daily reporting, monitoring and quality assurance.
  • Provide regular data and progress updates to Boeing India.
  • Generate visibility through events, PR, television, print and social media.
  • Continue delivering the program despite the operational constraints created by COVID-19.

Key Takeaway

Large-Scale Field Mobilisation + Structured Project Management + Technology-Enabled Monitoring

The NTTF–Boeing India skill development program demonstrated how these three capabilities can be combined to deliver livelihood-generation programs across geographically dispersed populations. Despite the unprecedented operational challenges created by COVID-19, Brisk Olive and NTTF successfully established the foundations for a nationwide program covering 42 courses, 14+ skill areas, 10+ states/UTs and more than 1,000 intended beneficiaries, including participants in remote areas.

The project showcased Brisk Olive's ability to mobilise, manage, monitor and execute complex social-impact and skill-development programs at national scale.
